Physiotherapy

physiotherapy

The physiotherapy unit in this center, is trying to minimize the problems caused by a lesion, using physical and mechanical factors, Applying advanced electrotherapy equipment and Physical exercises.

Physiotherapy subsets are:

Thermal modalities: including Infrared, Ultrasound (US) and hot pack

Mechanical modalities: including suspension therapy, traction, electrical stimulation bicycle

Electrical modalities: Including electrotherapy equipment such as TENS and faradic, Interferential , quadriceps chair,…

Movement therapy or Physical exercises: Physical exercise is any bodily activity that enhances or maintains physical fitness and overall health and wellness.

Massage: It is one of the oldest treatment methods that can be done by hand or machine.

Introducing some devices in this center

Ultrasound device: it uses sound waves and the frequency of the waves is about 0ne million vibrations per second. It has two effects on body tissues:

To relieve pain, increase Body tissues temperature, and mechanical effect for reducing inflammation.

Electrotherapy includes:

Faradic current: Faradic current is an alternating and interrupted current competent of producing a mechanical reaction without a chemical effect. It is used to stimulate muscles that have been damaged or whose nerve endings have suffered damage.

TENS: TENS  is the use of electric current produced by a device to stimulate the nerves for therapeutic purposes to treat pain.

Interferential device: It uses a mid-frequency electrical signal to treat muscular spasms and strains.

Mechanotherapy, movement therapy and massage: it is done by using devices such as shoulder wheel and quadriceps chair.

The role of the pediatric physiotherapist is to plan a treatment program in collaboration with the family and other members of the health care team in order to achieve optimal movement potential. The practice of Physiotherapy involves therapeutic movement, modalities, therapeutic use of self, education, technology and environmental modifications.”
